Privacy Policy
How ION Hospitality collects, uses and protects your information when you use ionhospitality.com, send us a form, book a call or get texts from us.
Important notice about text messaging data. ION Hospitality LLC does not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are kept confidential and are not shared with any third parties. Sharing with the service providers who help us deliver our texts and support you (for example, the provider that sends our messages) is the only exception, and they may use it only to provide that service to us.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how ION Hospitality LLC ("ION Hospitality", "we", "us" or "our"), a restaurant marketing and advertising agency at 7 Rivington St, New York, NY 10002, collects, uses and protects your information when you visit our website at ionhospitality.com (including go.ionhospitality.com), fill in one of our forms, book a call with us or receive texts and emails from us (together, the "Service").
Our work for restaurants (content creation, social media advertising, websites built on Tableify, and our private events system) is covered by the agreement we sign with each client. This policy covers the website and how we talk to you before and outside of that agreement.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you send a form, request a playbook or report, or book a call, we collect your name, mobile number, email address and restaurant name. If you pick your restaurant from the search box, we also receive the public listing you picked (its name, address and listing reference). When you book a call we collect the time you chose and anything you tell us about your restaurant and goals. If you text, email or call us, we keep that conversation.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive standard usage information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example, the ad or link you clicked, including campaign tags), and the time and date of your visit.
Information remembered in your own browser. After you send us a form, your name, email, mobile number and restaurant name are kept in your own browser's local storage for up to 90 days, so you are not asked for them again on our other pages. This copy stays on your device. You can clear it at any time with "Not you? Start over" wherever it appears, or by clearing your browser's site data.
How we use your information
- To send you what you asked for: playbooks, guides, links and your free report
- To book, confirm and remind you about calls with our team
- To answer your questions and follow up about your restaurant
- To send you news, offers and new playbooks about our services, which you can stop at any time
- To measure and improve our website and our advertising
- To keep the Service secure and prevent spam and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Text messages, emails and calls
When you give us your mobile number on one of our forms or when you book a call, you agree that ION Hospitality may text you about your request, including the playbooks and links you ask for, call confirmations and reminders, replies to your questions and occasional offers about our services. We may also email you and call you about your request. Any marketing phone calls are placed by a person; we do not use prerecorded or artificial voice messages for marketing calls.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. You can opt out of marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in any email. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase. The full texting terms are in our SMS Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and message delivery, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Cookies, pixels and ad measurement
We use cookies and similar tools to understand how our website is used and whether our advertising works. They load after the page has finished loading, or when you first interact with it:
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), to measure visits, form sends and bookings from our ads and to show our ads to people who visited our site.
- Google tag (Google Analytics and Google Ads), to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our Google ads.
- Hotjar, on some pages, to see in aggregate how visitors scroll and click so we can improve those pages.
When you send a form or book a call, we also send Meta a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email address and phone number, along with the event (for example, "Lead" or "Schedule"), so Meta can match it to activity on its platforms and tell us whether our ads worked. This is ad measurement. It is separate from, and never includes, your text messaging opt-in data or consent.
You can limit these tools with your browser's cookie settings, your Meta ad preferences, Google My Ad Center and the Google Analytics opt-out. Parts of the site may still work without them.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers who work on our behalf: website hosting, our CRM and booking calendar (which run on Tableify, the restaurant software platform our team builds), text message and email delivery, and customer support tools. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners (Meta and Google, and Hotjar on some pages) as described in the section above, for measurement and advertising. Your text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with them.
- Legal requirements. If we are required to by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of ION Hospitality, our clients or others.
- Business transfers. If ION Hospitality is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and we will give notice before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy: while we are talking with you about your restaurant, while you are a client, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute resolution obligations. Usage data is generally kept for a shorter time. The copy kept in your own browser expires after 90 days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and we use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat your data with the care we would want for our own.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA, and EU and UK residents under the GDPR. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
Children
The Service is meant for restaurant owners and operators. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites and tools, such as the free report on tableify.com. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest changes. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the site before they take effect.
